This summer is getting away from me. We've been jumping from one activity to another with very little time inbetween. I don't have time tonight to devote to a real post, but here are some highlights!
Child #2 goes to kindergarten in 2 weeks! She's ready and will do great, but this feels much harder than sending a boy out into the unknown.
My period started 25 days ago… no baby yet, but maybe this month!? Please!
We went to Lake Junaluska, NC to visit my mom and various family members over July 4th and had the usual family shenanigans, yet came out unscathed.
We went tubing while in NC at Deep Creek and had a blast. You're supposed to jump in midway to avoid the white water or if you're daring go the whole way. Since I was tubing with a 3 year old, we chose midway, but miscalculated and jumped in too far up. Ended up getting dunked and scraped a few times, but have held on to my belief that a mother will sacrifice all else before letting harm fall on her child.
The much anticipated Cow Appreciation Day showed up and as I've added to our costumes each year (what? you don't have a whole drawer devoted to cow costumes?) we looked rather impressive. I'm ashamed/proud to admit that we went to that chicken place for free breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a snack. It was free, but I think all that salt left me bloated for days. We're still on a nugget fast after that (almost 2 whole weeks! wow).
And… today I just got back from visiting my dad and again various family members in south Florida. There are lots more good stories from this trip, but I said I wouldn't devote too much time to this, sorry! I'll reflect on the trip I think.
The End. ;)
